On April 29, 2020 a meeting of the Special Interest Group Lift took place to discuss the extensions of the CANopen-Lift standard. Due to the Corona pandemic the meeting was held as a video call. 28 members from many countries participated in the e-meeting.

The focus was on the extension of the standard with a new virtual device Intelligent Power Supply Unit for backup energy storage and some extensions, e.g. for load measuring sensors and safety sensors.

The elaboration of the functions for condition monitoring and the definition of the remote monitoring unit are still carried out in a separate task force.

The next meeting is scheduled for October 2020. It will probably take place again as an e-meeting. PlugFests to test the interoperability can currently not take place due to the Corona pandemic.
