Safe electronics play a key role also in the lift industry. Especially, since the normative demand for a system to recognize uncontrolled car movements when the doors open these systems have spread among lifts.

En June 2015 the companies Böhnke + Partner, Cedes, ELFIN, ELGO, Intec and Kollmorgen met to define the objectives and functions of a new device: the 'Position Supervisor Unit', which captures the position and speed of the lift, so as the function of the end-switch, end-switch inspector, UCM-Monitoring among many others. This report has been submitted for inclusion in the Standard at the CIA and the first tests will be performed in September at the forthcoming plug-Fest.
