In October, the world's largest fair about elevators took place. CiA presented "CANopen Lift" on its booth. Within the four days of the fair many questions of visitors were answered and information brochures were distributed. Our member companies had the chance to meet and discuss with the CiA secretary, who is responsible for the success of the CANopen Lift specification.

“It has been a pleasure to see that many com-panies are interested in CANopen, although the percentage of sceptics of serial bus sys-tems is still considerably high,” reported Chris-tian Dressler. Several companies have agreed to support CANopen Lift in future.

The number of companies offering CANopen Lift products is continuously rising, e.g. for the first time inverters compliant with CiA 417 have been presented.

Due to the frequent communication the current state of CANopen Lift could be clearly resolved and will be discussed within the Special Mar-keting Group, which is going to meet in the near future.

The fair management pronounced a number of 18500 visitors. For the first time, place three in the ranking of exhibitors per nation was claimed by China, after Italy and Germany.
