CiA is the international users’ and manufacturers’ group that develops and supports CANopen and other CAN-based higher-layer protocols. The nonprofit group was founded in 1992 to provide CAN-based technical, product and marketing information. Approximately 500 companies are member of the nonprofit group that is headquartered in Erlangen, Germany. More information about CiA is available on their website www.can-cia.org.
