Die CIO-01A beinhaltet die [[Was sind virtuelle Geräte?|virtuellen Geräte]] ''Input Panel Unit'' und ''Output Panel Unit'' und kann universell zur Verarbeitung zur Verarbeitung von Signalen dieser Geräte eingesetzt werden. Sie stellt 32 Eingänge, Ausgänge oder Rufe - je nach Konigurration - zur Verfügung. Sie ist mit der Platine CLE-01 um jeweils weitere 32 Rufklemmen erweiterbar. Der CAN-Bus wird an Open-Style-Klemmen zum Anschluss anderer Komponenten bereitgestellt.
