Special Interest Group Lift Control
The Special Interest Group (SIG) Lift was founded in April 2002. The aim of the SIG Lift is to develop and maintain the application profile CANopen CiA-417 Lift.
The SIG Lift initially consisted of several working groups. Within the working groups, the bits and bytes of specific sub-areas of a lift application has been defined. For example, there were separate working groups for the drive, positioning and load measurement. Since 2004, all definitions of the standard have taken place within the SIG Lift and further meetings of special working groups are organized, e.g. to define the Position Supervisor Unit.
The chairman of SIG Lift is Dipl.-Ing.(FH) Roy Schneider from the company THOR Engineering GmbH.
In addition to the SIG Lift, there is also the Marketing Group Lift (MG Lift), which takes care of public relations for the application profile. The chairman of the MG Lift is Dr.-Ing. Stephan Rohr from the ELGO Batscale AG.
